  1. Hey Biebs,

The new laptop looks way cool. How much did it cost you? What’s your favorite option? I see a lot of impressive features. I didn’t know that laptops used SATA.

I know it has been awhile since I last visited. It’s been busy and stressful on my side.

  2. Hey Light!

the new one is running me about $1,300 that was with the $340 instant saving coupon code! my favorite option has to the ruby red color! but it really a toss up between the built-in webcam or the back lit keyboard. haha!

laptops just recently started using sata drives within the last year or so. soon they will be using SSD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive

well it was good to hear from you!

  3. What an awesome deal! Coupons are awesome! I almost want to buy a new laptop, except mine is working fine. Mine just has a built-in lamp that shines down on the keyboard. That is an awesome color too!

That is cool that laptops now use SATA. Is SSD better than storing memory on portable hard drives? My dad was telling me that eventually laptops and PCs won’t need hard drives, because they’ll be using portable drive devices. He said that then they’d be less likely to crash because of hard drive failure or other hard drive issues.

It’s good to be back! I missed reading your blog.

  4. well SSD are similar to flash drive memory since there are no moving optical disk like there are in IDE/SATA. the only problme is the battery life using SSD drive they consume alot more power.

your dad is right they are one step closer to doing that with the SSD they are developing but SSD isnt jsut for laptop/notebook systems. they are also pushing those for desktop systems. this means more uptime less downtime due to hardware failure.

with the advancements in flash memory, right now its possible to carry around linux on a USB thumb drive and you can basically carry around you computer on a flash drive so long as you have access to a computer that can boot to USB.
