I was just calling to ask…

“Dude, my computer’s busted, can you fix it?”

“Hey, do you know why my computer won’t boot up?”

“I keep getting this error message, what’s the deal?”

Lately ive been getting calls from people who i havnt spoke with since i was in college even before i graduated. i use to think they were friends, but now i know why they kept me around; to fix their computers. well i dont fix them for free anymore i had a great on the side project called Chips n’ Circuits where i made, although not alot of money, but pocket change at least when i was going to college. I work on a computer all day long some times more its my job i love computers (despite the fact i say i hate them) that is why i chose to study what i did.

when i get a call from someone i use to think that they were calling to talk or catch up on good times.. nope that is not why they call me they have a computer problem and want me to fix it thats all i am to alot ppl i know. well i don’t work on computers for free anymore. if you want me to work on your computer expect to receive a bill. if thats all you think of me is some one you know who fixes computers dont bother calling i don’t want to talk to you.

People wonder how i learn so much about computer well i eat, breath, and play computers. i have this urge to learn, to experiment and find out the results. Mostly i read … there is always someone out there that has came across a problem one might be having with their computer its guaranteed. this is when you must learn that Google is your friend and once you learn how to effectively use the Google you can find info on anything. it all in how you term your search words. You can learn alot by reading the info is out there just find it.

i think they forgot

i opened my dining room widows for the first time since i bought the house and moved in and to my surprise the windows are painted green

the rest of my windows either match the trim or are painted white.. to match the wall paint

Shrimp Provencal

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp (21-25 per pound), peeled and de-veined
  • 2 cups red peppers, diced
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 large cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can canned diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Quickly saute shrimp until they turn pink, but are not cooked through; remove from skillet and set aside. Add the bell peppers, onion, garlic, and thyme; cook until the onion softens, about 8 minutes.
  2. Stir in white wine, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the flavors blend, about 10 minutes. Add the shrimp, and simmer until they are cooked and turn opaque, about 3 minutes. Stir in the basil, and season to taste with salt and pepper before serving.

Now I didnt make the entire recipe as stated above i cut it in half since its only me im cooking for. but i needed a use for the shrimp i had in my freezer. i got the idea when i stumble across this blog: http://throwingwaffles.com/ and i amazed myself it actually turned out really well i had to do some research as to what it was, but i had most of the INGREDIENTS to make only had to go pick up some of the fresh produce that i didnt have.

an evening in the underground…

i spent some of this evening in the old IRC stomping grounds where some of my old internet friends reside, among what i like to call “The end of a great era”. i know you have no idea what that means its ok …and im not going to go into detail. i remember IRC being one of the best internet hang outs. now its just poisoned with idiotic kids.. like this direct quote from tonight’s convo in the main room.

“You don’t realize what you have until you reach High School.”

and this is the screen name of such fool “1337tards” hes argues its pronounced leet-ers… i pronounce it leet-tards because that’s what he is a “tard”

the discussion tonight and i should have logged out but curiosity got the better of me and it almost killed me. some one complaining about it being their b-day and no one said happy b-day to them all day. even now i question my own sanity as to why i partake in these convos normally i stick to the IMs between myself and my buddies and dont even pay attention to the main chat, for obvious reasons. well back to the kid whining about no one telling him happy b-day. and the douche bags were on in full tonight. this same person who made the above quote went on a rant on how life must be tough when the most of your problems come from some one not telling you happy b-day. and then hes start on this spiel about how tough it is to be in high school. this is when i came into the convo.

i said

“really high school is the pinnacle of you life huh? .. i know it must be difficult not having to pay rent or bills mom and dad do that. but because you  are in high school you know what life is really like.”

i was not expecting to get a response but i did.

he said *warning dont read the next sentence if you value your brain cells*

“damn right highschool is the hardest point in your life its where you become you and you will be defined for hte rest of your life who you are.”

How do you even respond to that much stupidity? there is not arguing with ppl like this. it makes your head hurt, so tonight i have bid farewell to that IRC room.

cant install the zune software

“Install Driver Fail/Remove Driver Fail/RollBack Error/Error 0x80070643:

Method 1:
downloading a MS program called “Windows Install Cleanup.”

Link here:

Method 2:
I don’t recommend this to anyone just yet who is not comfortable using regedit. Make a restore point before doing this. What you need to do is go here in the registry:

Then create a new DWORD value and name it:

Then modify it to 1

close regedit and reboot………install the zune software

Setup will still fail but it will NOT rollback. Check and see if you have zune files or not on your system. It should be in c:\Program Files\Zune

Then you can click on zune.exe in that folder. Now mine did come back up and say there was an update to 2.1 again and went back thru the install and error out, but it’s installed and working.

After you have the software on and working, I was advised we should delete that registry key.

Method 3:
Turn on Windows Firewall. That’s it.  Try to install again.

Method 3 worked for me how retarded!
